FORMER SEATTLE SPORTS GUY FIRED IN S.F.

Reax to Susquehanna and Infinity issues

For the life of me I don't know what Cumulus is thinking. Small company buying a fairly large one so saving $ is an issue ... but trotting into every market where Susq. has a pretty decent track record and blowing out all the elements that have made each of those stations successful?Met with Cumulus corporate tier once and left their Atlanta HQ with one of those Krusty the Clown "WHAT THE H$$L WAS THAT??" reactions?? One of the absolute weirdest cultures I had ever seen ... and with their first week of new stick ownership I don't think those earlier hunches were all that far off base.Or LA....where Gary Bryan barely able to get some traction on mornings and he was taken off by corporate so they could put "their" guy (Hollywood Hamilton on K-Earth). He didn't perform .... two years later, new PD has regained control of the station from THEIR corporate influence and puts Gary back on for all the reasons he was hired in the first place.WHY ARE ALL THESE OPERATORS SO INCREDIBLY MORONIC AT THE CORPORATE LEVEL? Seems as soon as the people climb the ranks they immediately issue dictates of incredible ignorance.....

I second that emotion for Bruce. He's a good guy and a solid sports reporter. He survived a lot of being jacked around over 17 years at KNBR. He deserves to land well.RJ
