It appears Matt Baldridge (who worked at 92.1 / KISS-FM I believe, & K-Hits... possibly 92.1 The Beat but I can't guarantee it) is making some pretty big waves in a small Georgia town!

Douglas, Georgia, BTW, is a town of about 10,000... and appears to be about as backwards as you could ever wish for.
If anyone discussed MY dating life with that kind of detail on a public forum, I'd sure be trying to sue somebody... whether I'd get anywhere or not might be a different story, I'm sure... but this is insanity.
While I don't know if he's done anything illegal (I doubt it, if the schools keep asking him to DJ dances), I did work with him here in Tulsa at a few school dances.
What I saw was a guy who related to the crowd, got them worked up into a frenzy, & make sure they were talking to their friends about the party (& him) for weeks to come. I never saw him come on to any underage girls, I never saw him make sexual comments, even, about any of the girls at the dances.
Again, I'm not in this town, I haven't followed him every moment, we weren't CLOSE friends so who knows what he did when I wasn't around... I just know that what's being described here doesn't sound like the Matt I knew.
Did Matt act immature? Sure he did! Did the kids at the dance think he was the "coolest DJ ever?" YOU BET.
If there's any REAL problems, you can bet the police will get involved.
Meantime, he's gotten CRAZY publicity for him & his station... maybe not all of it GOOD publicity, but certainly publicity!
Can anybody think of a media personality in Tulsa that's been put under this much of a microscope, ever? Sure, you hear whispers & rumors, but... anything quite like this?
More to the point: does a DJ put himself up to this kind of scrutiny? Should Matt (& anybody else who got picked over with a fine-toothed comb like this) simply bow his head and accept the attacks, assuming they aren't true?
...Or should we ALL be looking for this kind of "trouble," to get out names & our stations in front of the public eye?
I look forward to a vigorous discussion!
