Former WBFN / WYKK owner / engineer A.C. Elliott passed away

Former owner of WBFN/WYKK in Quitman and long-time engineer A.C. Elliott passed away Wednesday. He was 83 years old. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Quitman at 11am on Saturday, Sept. 8th.

I had the pleasure of working on and off with A.C. for the past 10 years or so. Thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and family.

Sorry to hear about this. I worked with him about 25 years ago preparing the appllication for his FM.
He was especially proud of his ham calls, which matched the call for his AM. He was a class act. JBI

Sad to hear about Carlie. Known him since I was a kid in Meridian.
And a close ham friend as well. He really loved his K5BFN call.
Were I not working today, I'd go to the funeral.

It's always sad to hear of an "ol' radio man" passing. These pioneers, in my opinion... are a wealth of knowledge and a true treasure to talk with. I only had the opportunity to visit with Mr. Elliot a few times. We both knew of each other in the radio vine. Just "talking radio..."- and how the industry continues to evolve, certainly would make my day. I think (again just my opinion) WBFN were longtime "Quitman Legacy" (if you will) call letters. WBFN. Mr. Elliot professionally and personally will be missed here by many.
