RadioInsight and AllAccess are reporting that Shaila Scott, who had been the midday personality at WBLS, is suing the station's owners for gender and age discrimination. She was let go recently, after about10 years with the station.
The lawsuit asserts that the two male on-air personalities were paid more than Shaila, though she had (according to the filing) superior ratings. It also mentions that she was replaced by a much younger person. In addition, there is the assertion that WBLS' owner Mediaco said they would not issue Shaila severance pay if she filed a lawsuit against them.
