Former WCVB-TV meteorologist Mark Rosenthal on Worcester's 100FM The Pike

Anybody hear former Channel 5 meteorologist Mark Rosenthal doing weather this morning on Worcester's 100FM The Pike?? The 8:30am newsbreak is the only one I happened to catch this morning and I don't recall hearing him earlier in the week.

Usually, Adam Webster does a quick 1 or 2 minute news/sports/weather update on the half hour (and usually at about 25 and 55 past the hour). For the 8:25ish break, Adam did the news and sports, then mentioned that Mark Rosenthal would have the weather forecast after a commercial break. They then had a couple minutes of commercials, then Bruce Palmer had a live commercial, then Rosenthal came in (taped, not live) with the forecast plus a promo for some business in Worcester. Don't recall which business.

There is nothing on 100FMThePike.com mentioning him.

Rosenthal was fired/not renewed by WCVB a few years ago. I believe he ended up as chief meteorologist at a station in Maine at which he didnt last very long.

he does weather for Nassau's 106.3 WFNQ "Frank FM" out of Nashua NH too

IIRC, he also does (did?) 1.510-WWZN.

I remember feeling bad when he got canned. If memory serves, I think he had been with Channel 5 since he was a teenager. I remember him being interviewed and saying, with a genuinely hurt expression on his face, that he had no idea what he had done wrong.

IIRC correctly Ch.5 was not to pleased with the fact that he was doing used car commercials while still working at Ch.5 He has been sellinh his WX service for years.

Nice to hear.
He will be in his "element" with the weather out there in the next 24 hours.
I thought he was on a Cape Cod radio station a few years ago.
Todd Gross also.

I can't believe Channel 5 would be like that. How dumb. Here in Connecticut Rachel Lutzker the traffic babe/Entertainment reporter for Tribune's FOX 61 also appears in commercials for Barberino Nissian. The ads appear on both FOX 61 and on cable. Plus she's also the Voice-Tracked host of "Acoustic After Dark" on Clear Channel's The River 105.9 and she does morning traffic reports on The Clear Channel radio stations.

Was Mark Rosenthal also on the network? I seem to remember him being on a network show, which, considering that he was a weekend guy, I thought was kind of unusual. Anyone else remember that or I am I "mis-remembering" it, as Roger Clemens would say?

Rosenthal left WGME (where he was chief met) under a cloud as well. The scuttlebutt in the market was that he would show up for the 11 at the last possible minute. Management got tired of it and he was gone, or so the story goes. His appearances on the 11 were, shall we say, erratic; his interplay with Kim Block was very awkward at times (he would get thisclose to her at the anchor desk.)
