Former WGR employee, Craig Carton is in deep trouble

From Tom Taylor's NOW Radio newsletter...

“The rise and sad fall of Craig Carton” chronicles Carton’s career from his start in Buffalo at sports WGR, then Cleveland, Philly, Denver (highest-rated show ever on sports “Fan” KKFN), back to his native NYC area at then-WNEW/102.7 – and just before his decade at CBS Radio’s sports “Fan” WFAN-AM/FM, five years as a “Jersey Guy” on the PM drive show on hybrid talk/classic hits “NJ 101.5” WKXW Trenton.

This week is literally the ten-year anniversary of “Boomer & Carton” on the Fan, and Carton’s spending it accused of participating in a Ponzi scheme. Sounds like he had a very serious gambling problem. You read a couple of stories about this in yesterday’s NOW, and the NY Post fills in Carton’s history here:

CBS Radio’s taking it one day at a time, but has suspended him. Yesterday’s Boomer Esiason’s partner at the mic was fellow retired NFL quarterback Phil Simms.
