FORMER WIBG PD REYNOLDS PASSES

The Cleveland board is reporting that Jack Reynolds has died. Reynolds is a footnote in Philly radio history, where he served ad PD of WIBG when Storer sold to Buckley Broadcasting in 1969, ushering in Joey Reynolds, Philadelphia's Wibbage, a personality-driven unstructured broad playlist Top 40, following almost 2 years of The Big 99 under Paul Drew.

Thanks Kevin for the information. While I never met Jack, listening to JOEY was one of my highlights listening to Wibbage over the years. I may be in the minority, because all of the Top-40 folks were ga-ga over Famous 56 at the time, but I LIKED what Wibbage was doing countering what FIL was about then. It was almost progressive at one time...or at least their PLAYLIST was broad and eclectic. I look to the '69-72 era of Wibbage as the BEST from MY musical and personality standpoint, while acknowledging the great legacy of the '56 -- '69 visions of the station. May Jack Reynolds rest in peace.

By the way Kev...how's it going in FLA? Write me privately please.

BE BIG
Jay
