Former WPRO Big Wig out!

No, not the one most here were hoping for; but Mitch Dolan exits as GM of WPLJ and president of 22 formerly Disney radio stations.....Farid takes over most duties. Find more details by clicking the news link above....

Johnny D. must feel like a turkey the day before Thanksgiving.

I worked with Mitch at PRO from 1979 when he was hired in sales, to 1999 when he left as GM. Always felt he was a decent and fair person, both as a friend, and as an executive. Some of PRO FM's greatest achievements came under his watch.

I started after Mitch moved to NY and only had the pleasure to meet him briefly twice on return visits prior to Telemedia taking over. You don't survive 20 years in NYC without knowing what you are doing!

And another...

Ex-WPRO PD Tom Cuddy resigns as vice president of programming for Citadel’s hot AC WPLJ, New York (95.5) and Citadel’s major market FM music stations.

That makes two departures of the three PRO alums that made the PRO to Madison Square Garden migration with PLJ-MD Tony Mascaro, the last one standing. I wish them all well - all three are class acts and great broadcast professionals.
