Former WSB-TV reporter climbs tower

http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/sh...2007/12/31/pole_climbing_not_dancing_for.html

Dale Cardwell, former WSB-TV investigative reporter turned US Senate candidate, has climbed up to the top of Corey Tower in downtown Atlanta, and will stay there "until his message is heard" in his campaign for senate.

I suspect his history in local TV news and knowing how stations go at one another gave him the idea for this stunt.

BTW...it will be 19°F Thursday morning. Hope he brought plenty of cold weather gear.

All I've got to say is that makes my knees ache just thinking about being that high up. I have a feeling that this stunt won't be as successful as he hopes.

I guess that was two things.

Does anybody, other than me, smell "despirate ploy"? I mean, how can your message be heard when you're sitting on a scaffold hanging off an old smoke stack, and all the reporters say is "A candidate for the Senate is sitting on a tower to get his message heard"? Yeah, he might get some publicity, but for mainly being a moron sitting 300ft in the air on some of the coldest nights in January! None of his issues are being spoke about and, even if they were, how many people would be dumb enough to vote for a guy that freezes his butt off on the side of a tower?! ...Wait, this is Georgia! :D

Sad thing is, no one outside of Atlanta knows who he is. Maybe he should be tower sittin in Savannah or Augusta?
