Former WUBE PD Mike Chapman has died

I only worked for him for 10 months, but what a presence! He had a massive heart attack about 3 years ago.

Story is on All Access.
Edited by JeffDavis98 on 09/08/05 01:13 AM.

Allen Matthews took over from Mike. Closson was after that.
Edited by JeffDavis98 on 09/10/05 06:26 PM.

Don't know about that, but I do remember that Allen was the one who changed the moniker to B105. They had previously used the WUBE calls. Allen was a great guy, btw.

You might be thinking of 105.9 WBFB. I believe both Larry B and Allen Matthews worked there after leaving WUBE. I don't think Larry B was ever at 96.5 although Allen may have worked there. Larry B currently does mornings at 106.5 WNKR in Dry Ridge KY

> Larry was one of the first hires at the Beaver once the calls switched from WSKS along with the sale to Reams Broadcasting. Larry stayed on until maybe early in 1989, then returned to WUBE, for maybe six months to a year working midnights, before going to 105.9

Yes, but how does this information impact the current CHR war in Dayton?
