Jules Bianchi passed away Friday at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire in Nice, some nine and a half months after his accident in the Japanese Grand Prix.
The Frenchman, who was 25, was transferred to his hometown after spending the first few weeks after the crash in Yokkaichi. He never regained consciousness, and reports had been increasingly pessimistic.
A protege of Ferrari, Bianchi was regarded as one of the top talents of his generation, and was widely tipped to ultimately land a race seat with the Italian team.
