Fort Myers Radio Question

Does anyone remember an AM in Fort Myers that had a rock format at some point between the mid to late 80s? I used to vacation there with my family but I can't remember what it was called.

Might it have been WMYR-AM 1410?

MYR was listed as "Progressive" once on a Broadcasting Yearbook, but I think you could be thinking of SMN's "Z-Rock", which aired on WZRZ/770 (now WWCN), also out of Ft. Myers. The timeframe was 1989-1990. AM Stereo, too...I remember going to Naples in a rented Lincoln and boy did they sound amazing in C-QUAM.

I also recall the station pulled in some good-for-an-AM-playing-young-kids-music numbers, probably enough to concern sister WRXK, which might have been why the plug was eventually pulled in favor of a 96 K-Rock simulcast, and eventually they tried a short lived, very tacky "Tourist Radio" format.

That was it! I remember the calls now! The only reason it stands out is because I picked up a sticker somewhere in Ft. Myers (hey, free stickers to a 10 year old are always cool no matter what's on them) and then I tuned them in when we were driving because I'd never heard modern music on AM before. Thanks for the help!
