This station has been for sale for a LONG time.

Think: why?

You wont make money operating a standalone smalltown station anywhere. You might be able to break even.

play fun-upbeat dance-friendly hits...the trade off would be
breaking even..not in it for the money..with that said, at this
time, i tell you i am not serious about buying any station.... but,
iF i could..i always scope out what would be the best for
my "dream" to come true.

So I'm not the only person who's fantasized of buying some AM in the pokes and playing HIS favorites, huh?<P ID="signature">______________

Where is it written that a smalltown station won't make money?

Granted, there are some losers out there.

If a station is not doing well, the secret is figuring out whether it is the market that is a loser, or the current operator is a loser.

(World's greatest nightmare- coming to the realization that you are a loser operator who purchased a crummy radio station in a town that is a loser market!!!)

Let me propose to you that in a small town, your choice of music is not critical. If you had three county seats in a row, why/how would you determine that Town "A" is a country music market, Town "B" is a fun-upbeat dance-friendly market, and Town "C" is a rock market?

Are there factors more important than music choice that make or break a small town station?

Things that make you say: "Hmmmmmm...."

P.S. Ft Payne at $115,000 is tempting.

What are you saying in your comment about distance from market #57 and market #115. Are you thinking being CLOSE to these markets is good... or are you thinking being at least that far away from these markets is good?

Or are you saying NOT GOOD?
