I don't like it.
I don't either. That's why I don't get the hype over this one song.

I think, similarly to Rolling In The Deep, it doesn't sound like anything else that CHR has played, and people are probably excited about hearing such a new sound on CHR

I'm starting to think it won't hit #1 though, just judging from the number of people who seem to dislike it (on this and other message boards)

I think I'm in the minority here when it comes to liking this song. I learned about it in LA. I love both versions of it! The Band Perry is cool, too. Tucson's KRQ is playing all of that. For some reason, they actually beat KIIS when it comes to music variety! Looks like they beat Phoenix, too...

It really has been beat to death here in LA- first on KYSR and KROQ- and now on KIIS. Like I said, I heard it on KIIS three times on Thursday morning alone.

Well it's getting heavy rotation here on WKQI. While it's not quite reached power status, it sure is testing well among those who are listening.

Interesting to note that AMP Radio hasn't added FTP on their playlist yet.......wonder what's taking them....

I was sitting in a Borders 4-5 weeks ago reading a magazine while dropping my car off across the street getting an oil change and tire rotation , and heard this song over the PA system with several other tracks on their CD. Usually you hear crap of anything on the Borders PA system, but the music I noticed was very catchy and I never heard of this group or their music prior. But I said to myself, this song I just heard should be played on the radio and the other cuts are haunting, but most likely , I'll never hear it again. One day a week or two later I downloaded media base and sampled this unknown song featured from the unknown "Foster the People" and shockingly noticed this was the song I heard that I liked at Borders. Very strange ear for hit music.

The service I work for has been running it in light rotation since 2/15/2011 according to my logs, as of last week it would be in moderate rotation if we weren't off for summer session.

Not that this isnt a good song. I'm glad KIIS-FM is giving power rotation to a non-rhythmic song. However, is it just me? Cause I cannot understand a word they are saying in this song except "All the other kids with the Pumped Up Kicks". I like the song for the melody though, it's actually pretty cool.

This willsoon top 100 spins on KIIS-FM!

Yeah, Helena Beat is even harder to understand the first couple times you hear it - once you look up the lyrics though, all of a sudden it sounds clear lol

Agreed. We are lucky to live in an age that most of us can access song lyrics from our smartphones. We used to have to buy the album and hope the lyrics were inside in "the good 'ol days".

I think "Helena Beat" has a chance at CHR, as well. It won't do as well as "Pumped Up Kicks" but I think it has an appropriate sound for CHR.

I wish there was a way of re-releasing old MGMT tracks to CHR, since pop stations seem to like the sound so much

MGMT was a little ahead of their time, I guess. If "Time to Pretend" was released to CHR now, it would probably receive spins.

I remember hearing "Electric Feel" on KPWR a few times but it was only during mixes. Still, it sounded completely appropriate for the station.

I second releasing MGMT on CHR stations. I would like to hear "Electric Feel" or "Kids" on stations such as KIIS and WKQI (although I prefer the "Time to Pretend EP" version of Kids than the Oracle Spectacular album version).

With Swedish House Mafia's "Save The World" on the rise at CHR, I'm in favor of re-releasing
"Sweet Disposition" by Temper Trap, the Axwell & Dirth South Remix

"Teenage Crime" by Adrian Lux, the Axwell & Henrik B Remode
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j83fkclpsqE

And also try to push the Dubstep sound with Katy B's "Katy on a Mission"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhgMg67hmSQ&ob=av2n

"Katy on a Mission"....ahh, I remember when I first heard that at the Movement festival a while back. THAT WAS A SLEEPER HIT IN MY EYES!! I would love for a station to add it to its rotation, or at least have one of their mixshow DJs to spin it.

I bet DJ David B on WKQI here in Detroit would be all over it during his mixshow.
