I'm nbot a part of an already established morning team, nor am I a HUGE fan of country music, but I thought SOMEONE on this board might benefit from this bit of knowledge.

Morning Team

WUSJ, US 96.3, Jackson, MS (Country) is looking for a dynamic, already established, morning team with proven success. This is a very competitive situation. We win the day part 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 by a thread and will do what it takes to increase our margin of victory. Include demo, resume and an explanation of why you consider your show successful. Females and minorities encouraged to apply. WUSJ-FM and New South Radio are EOE. (02-06-06)

It pays so little you'd think I was joking if I told you.

That's a HOLLIDAY station???? That's hilarious! I used to work for one of the Holliday's at SL-100 back in the day... before he sold it to some Florida-based idiots.

What??? Sorry, but it's impossible to make another 20-25K in remotes there unless they start paying like real markets. I don't have all the details, so I'll be vague, but there's a big nasty legal battle brewing within that company and it ain't pretty from what I hear. Clear Channel will be happy to have some company in the scandal department.

Lost his gig because of a divorce from his sidekick. Great stuff huh? They aired all their dirty laundry during the show a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if they'll ever run a the risk of banking on another married couple morning show.

ok, you got me... I suck and so does my station. I need to get out. After 27 years you'd think I'd learn something and maybe make something out of my self... guess not. Wonder if I could still get that job as a stock boy at the Big Star. Woah is me.

Rock on dude! Man weren't those guys stupid when they blew up ZZQ? Just think where it would be now... and oh those Dawnbusters...they'd still have 94TYX going huh...radio people are so stupid.

Now you went and did it didnt you.... why did you have to mention ZZQ AND TYX in the same sentence!?!?! Speaking of ZZQ, I stayed up in my bedroom the night they made the switch and quickly turned the country station MISS 103 off... maybe its because I'm getting old, but I can't remember the last rock or the first country song played on the frequency. But, I can tell you that when the Blakeney's left MISS to move to Taylorsville and their Pine Belt conglomerate, MISS*103 took a huge hit I don't think they've completely healed from yet. Those guys know radio and they know LOCAL radio and they make it WORK.... and they're great guys too.

So you're telling me that they book 3 live broadcasts a week every week and the morning show jocks work every one of those events? That's the only way it would be possible. Unless you're talking about 20-25K split 2 ways. That's slightly more believable, but I would still have a hard time getting my mind around that figure.

I lie to you not.

Heard the ZZQ sign off. The last song was "This is the End" by the Doors. I don't remember the first country song played on Miss 103 but it signed on at 6AM the next morning with Randy Bell and Bob Rall. I think the first song was by Conway Twitty but not quite sure. I still have a crude tape laying around somewhere but doubt it would still play. It was a certron cassete made with a cheap machine 1981

Wow! Bet Larry and Randy didn't know their Collins(not Taylorsville)venture was the beginning of the end for Miss103. Somewhere Randy is smiling reading this, if he's not fishing. He's retired, now,Greg, in case ya didn't know. Maybe I'll run into him at the next AARP convention.

You are a real piece of work Gregy... I didn't know that Randy's 12n-6p Sunday shift was so critical to the success of the station... I should have paid more attention when he and I were eating bologna sandwhiches and plotting our radio futures..... and I don't think Larry was ever on Miss.. or even 102.9... he may have stuck his head in the door from across the hall at JDX many years before...

you are a piece of work... don't you have a pizza to deliver or something?
