Four BHC radio stations destroyed in fire

KAAA, KZZZ, Lucky 98 and K-FLAG are all dark.

On Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at 00:11 the Fort Mojave Mesa Fire Department was dispatched to a fire in a commercial strip mall at 1531 Jill Way. Firefighters aggressively attacked the fire from the interior of one suite of a six suite studios and offices of Cameron Broadcasting. However, the fire had vented into a common attic space and was traveling east and west. There were no injuries to any of the 34 firefighters. Both business of Cameron Broadcasting and Xpress Graphics were 100 per cent destroyed. The fire has been ruled accidental. It appears to have started in an electrical sub panel in one of the radio stations' suites.

Can they not broadcast from the transmitter sites?

While the transmitter sites are functional, they don't have any studio equipment.

The SBE newsletter yesterday included a call for assistance in putting some temporary studios together.

The FM sites are pretty remote, so it's more practical to build a new studio and put up a STL than broadcast from a tower site.
