Four More Years For Pierre Robert On WMMR

A true professional in the business! it's very nice to see greater media keeping such good local talent on the air!

Pierre proves that you don't have to keep your breaks to 30 seconds on a music station to get numbers and have a long career - you just have to have a PERSONALITY and BE SINCERE. Go figure. Rock on, Pierre! Your sheer existence on the radio helps us all in this biz.

(It also helps to have a PD that recognizes that and has the self confidence to NOT throw a conniption if the breaks go over 30 seconds.)

IMHO he belongs on MGK, and should of been placed on 102.9 years ago, where he can do his thing, he is a perfect fit with his schtick. I don't think the younger demos of MMR want to hear about him and Jerry Garcia hanging out years ago, and all the other things he rants about, day after day, from the glory days of rock in the 60's. Agreed, he brings in the bacon for MMR, but MGK's listeners can appreciate that jargon much better. John followed by Pierre, a perfect match. Just my 2 cents worth.

Greater Media could promote WMGK as "Classic 'MMR". Listening to 102.9, they have John DeBella, Bubba John, etc...

Look at this from 2006: http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php?topic=55275.0

This is a breath of fresh air..you don't want a vet. to leave after that many years or have part-timers trying to backdoor pierre!
