Four Roanoke FMs heard in Charleston

Today I randomly heard at least four, maybe five Roanoke FMs on James Island. I heard WSLQ 99.1 cut through WZFX, along with WVTF 89.1, WXLK 92.3, and WSLC 94.9. This was at about 2:45pm.

Pretty long distance reception.

You went four for four of the major (class C) Roanoke FM's - all are fantastically sited atop Poor Mountain (4000' elevation, 2000' HAAT) with a pretty open shot across the piedmont to the southeast. And all but WXLK are "omni-directional". While WSLQ puts more wattage in the air, I've always had better luck with WSLC in this quadrant.

What was the maybe five you heard? The only other signal from that market I can imagine you'd hear even in tropo is WROV at 96.3. It's more like 18KW, but comes from Cahas Mountain (about 3500' elevation and >1000' HAAT I would guess) south of Roanoke to put city-grade signal in COL Martinsville.
