Fox 10 Arizona Morning

Linda Williams did a good job last week. She held her own and was pretty funny at times.

I've always liked Linda Williams. She's good - too good, in fact, for a morning fluff-show. She's way overqualified for that type of show, and should have been doing a weekday-evening newscast years ago. Like Frank Camacho at KTVK, she's been underutilized at Channel 10 for years.
But her main problem (and I don't mean to sound sexist but it'll probably come out that way) is that she's too old for the job as well as too good. An older guy like Rick D'Amico can get away with it but an older woman probably can't. They'll probably take one of their young reporterettes or the girl who does the traffic (she auditioned this week) since she's on the show already.
My guess is that KSAZ will stick with the "Two old f@rts, dorky weather-guy, and young hottie" lineup. We are talking about Fox, after all. ;D

Yep, ya don't fix what ain't broke. Apparently the formula has served them pretty well so far, ratings wise. I don't know the details of Jenn's abrupt departure, but Fox 10 has shown twice that the "hottie" part of the a.m. equation is interchangeable without missing a beat.
Unfortunately, you are probably right about Linda Williams. She makes Rob Pearcy seems like he's only about 10 years old on the weekend pm newscasts. She is definitely underused and should be co-anchoring the new 6pm weeknight newscast. That team would be serious competition to the "Arizona Nightly News" over on 12!
