Who said it? If it was Jeffcoat, you can't correct her on anything. She gets very irritated, even when she's wrong, so they just don't tell her, and she ends up making an a$$ out of herself. She also will not ask if she is unsure.

I've heard it from many people, at various places, but I hear it a lot on KRIV, but it is pronounced "Nah-VAD-uh"...
VAD like rhymes with DAD. Not, Nah-VODD-uh. And, yes I'm talking about Nevada. I go to Vegas all the time, and the locals are quick to correct you, if you mispronounce it.
 
Actually, it's pronounced

Awl-deen. Not Al-deen, or Ahl-deen. I've lived in this town more than 50 years and I've never heard anybody say it any way but Awl-deen.
