Fox 4 News in HD

Fox 4 HD looks about the same. They only have some new graphics and cameras look a little sharper. I like to see KDFW 4-2 come back as 4-2 weather. I like to see Fox 4 put up a good weather channel together better than NBC 5-2 and WFAA 8-2, 8-3. FOX 4 needs to put a sub channel 4-3 with FOX NEWS channel too. I like HDTV!!! It is poor man's cable!!!

Get your hard news from Mike and Jane?

Fox 4 News is half of a station at best, and has been for years. The anchors are terrible as is the stations imaging. I am not sure of the name of the person who does their voice work (News teasers and such) but he needs to go. It's a dated sound. Plus, just a personal observation here, why is it that you never see Steve Eager's and Heather Hays' upper teeth?

Hmmmm.... You guys must be watching a different Fox4? ???

Why is it that their Good Day show beats the pants off of everyone else in the ratings? It must be that everyone else is bad. :)

Further evidence of a society that prefers down home hokum to a dose of seriousness...
KTLA apparently isn't as "sophisticated" as you are as they have hired down home hokum girl Megan Henderson.

I prefer Channel 8 HD better then Fox 4. I usually watch Fox 4 at 9 and then Channel 8 at ten. Channel 8 is awesome.

As far as Fox 4's image goes. I don't know what it is. But whenever i switch over to HD on Fox four (i have bunny ears for HD) The screen is always smaller. I get a full HD screen with all other news channels. But with Fox 4 there is always black lines on the sides and on top. Sometimes it switches over to full screen during commercials and sometimes it doesn't. Like on Saturday night. I watched cops and it was cropped out on the sides. usually it isn't its full screen. I don't know if they switch that or what. But its freaking annoying with a 32 inch Flat screen....

That is simply the way the station broadcasts in HD, and most HD TV's will allow you to set your preferences for full screen mode or cropped mode as is what you are seeing. Those of us with non HD TV's that are using the digital converter boxes, have that same option. And 4 isn't the only channel that broadcasts in cropped mode. Most of the other channels do too.

Yes, but if i had it on crop mode all channels would do that. only Fox 4 does that. When the news goes off it goes back to full screen sometimes. But other times it stays cropped.....

I think their anchors are just fine...but the lighting over there is NOT kind to any of them. I don't understand why they would want their anchors to look so rough. I've met Heather Hayes in person and she's beautiful...but watch her on TV and the lighting makes her look MUCH older than she actually is. This applies to the male anchors as well.

I don't know what kind of TV you have, but with the digital converter boxes, you can set the crop mode / full screen mode on each individual channel. Once it is set, it is stored in memory. I have mine set to full screen on 4, and I don't see any changes at any time of the day. Perhaps your TV has an individual channel display mode, like the converter boxes do.
