Fox 40, Sacramento kicks off morning news.

Anybody watching Tribune's newest newscast in Sacto... Fox 40's 7-8 a.m morning news?

It's being touted as news for busy people without all the ha-ha stuff... a dig at Viacom's UPN 31, which runs a 5-10 a.m. "Good Day, Sacramento."

Ted.

I taped the first week to see if there was any improvement. A little. It's still hard to get used to the anchor tossing to traffic on the left side of the screen. We read left to right...why not toss left to right. They're not the only ones doing that but, hey, they cover the stories and they're in and out and they feel that's what we want. I wasn't asked what I wanted. Were you?

It's very boring when compared to most other morning shows. Most of the packages are just a rehash of the 10pm news (nothing wrong with that.) The graphics are good but the swoosh sound effect when tossing to traffic sounds terrible.

Good luck to them, I hope it lasts.<P ID="signature">______________

I don't think I can get used to the one-anchor format. WPSG in Philadelphia recently introduced a similar "no fluff" morning newscast, but they have separate news, weather, and traffic anchors. Just hearing from one talking head for an hour can get fairly boring after a while.
