Fox 43 Tower Gone.

Permit me to post a TV issue on "radio discussions" !
The old channel 43 self supporting TV tower has been taken down and pile of rubble is all that remains of it in their parking area on south Queen Street.I am told that it would not pass inspection. The tower was a broadcasting Icon in it's own right. It had been up since late 1952 and channel 43 began broadcasting in late December of that year.It is perhaps the oldest UHF television station that has remained on the air.A brand new spanking cell type tower has replaced it and is used for microwave links, stl, satellite ,etc. Fox 43 transmits their signal from a 700 foot tower near Hallam.
