FOX 5 News - New Theme Song & Graphics

FOX 5 News debuted a new theme song and a blue graphics package today. They also have a new on-screen FOX 5 bug in the lower left. Instead of the vertictal FOX 5 searchlight bug (which is still used when transitioning to a new story and on reporters' mics), it's just a plain horizontal "FOX 5" that fades in and out. MyFoxAtlanta.com and the time/temp appear underneath.

Same thing on O&O 35 in Orlando. The rotating "Fox Box" bug is gone (but how will we know they're in HD now?) replaced with the same setup you're describing. In related news, FNC has not changed their bugs or graphics.

Oh I hate it! The graphics are too big and stay up through the entire news cast describing each story.

Speed Channel, soon to be renamed Fox Sports, also sports a blue Fox bug now. They seem to be intent on unified branding.

I hate the new graphics. I just re-watched the 9/11 coverage from CNN. The thing that all of us were screaming during the 9/11 coverage was for CNN to take down those imaging graphics that took up 1/4 - 1/3 of the screen. Fox 5 has forgotten that it is TV and TV news is about the pictures/video. The graphics are so annoying that I just now watch 11 Alive instead.
