10pm Broadcast - Tony Thomas has no freakin clue where he was. He stated that he was in SW Atlanta when he was in SE Atlanta. It was embarrassing to see him make an a-- of himself.

That's a pretty low-key mistake -- not like he called it downtown Chicago or something. Sure it wasn't just a slip of the tongue? I do it all the time when I'm trying to juggle several things at once.

Also remember that reporters hop around cities throughout their career. So it takes a while to become familiar. I can't remember how long he's been around, but maybe it's just an honest mistake. When I was on vacation recently in Florida, the (new) anchor mispronounced the name of a former Governor. People understand that everybody's human.

You sure about, deadman? I thought Tony Thomas was reporting from the airport last night? Doug Evans reported from the scene of the shooting in NE Atlanta and incorrectly stated that he was in SE Atlanta, but he reported later that he was right on the dividing line of North and South, so it was no big deal.

Most Atlanta veteran reporters know the city inside and out - not to mention it was very dark outside and the story was just breaking - little mistakes happen from time to time - give the man a break...

This is true. A couple of years ago, there was this new weather girl on Ch. 46 who said there was a storm coming down from Elijah (when she was pointing to the area of Ellijay). She said it twice.

Never saw her again - and I looked!
