FOX 5 Storm Team

Hi guys,

When did the FOX 5 weather department go from being called the "Weather Authority" to "Storm Team"? Is this a fairly recent change? Just wondering...

They changed the name last week. I liked Weather Authority name, seemed very powerful. To me, the name Storm Team sounds generic.

I actually like the new logo and slogan for their weather department. I haven't seen them with a horizontal logo in nearly 6 years, so it's an improvement to me.

I no longer live in Atlanta, but most of my family is there. And I still keep up with the news occasionally by watching live streams of FOX 5 and 11Alive. That's where I noticed the change. I would be curious to see if they replaced that "Weather Authority" banner that was over the weather center. I actually liked the Weather Authority name, but the logo was uninspired, to put it kindly.

I am getting used to the storm team name and the logo looks good too!

Maybe all of the Fox O&O's are using the same name down the line.

Some Fox O&O's refer to their weather mechanism as "Sky Guardian."

And I'm sure that most of you have heard of the recent changes coming to the FOX 5 Storm Team. Joanne Feldman and Jeff Hill are trading places, with Joanne now on Good Day Atlanta and Jeff on weekends. Jeff will also work weekdays at noon, 5, and 6 pm. He is obviously prepping to replace Ken Cook as chief meteorologist once he decides to retire. Jeff has to be happy about being able to sleep in after nearly 10 years on the morning shift.

Yes, exactly, Jeff is next in line to the chief position. He does have to be prep for the upcoming position. “Sky Guardian” does not sound as good as “Storm Team,” unless you want to sound "Angelic" yet, Storm Team sounds more professional and suitable for the Meteorologists and their skill.

Stacey is pregnant with twins, maybe taking a break for her health's sake. Her contract was not renewed and I am not sure on what bases the contract was not give or which party declined.

Mark Hayes would make a funny Road Warrior; we do need some humor in the mornings to brighten up the day with some positivity. I do think his personality gives great potential for a comical career.

As for Suchita, she does modeling and such other jobs than reporting. I am sure she will aim for higher goals when she realizes Atlanta is not where she should be. Suchita wants to be more than a reporter or news host; she wants celebrity status! Go to L.A. Suchie, find a hosting job for a show whether it is a game, magazine, court, or talk show! Atlanta will not forget you.
