Fox 96.7/103.1, #1 in Orange County?

While listenting to Fox 96.7/103.1 earlier today, I heard their new id sweeper," WGNY-FM Newburgh-Middletown, WTSX Port Jervis #1 For Everyone,The Most Listen to Radio Station in Orange County The Fox Fox 96.7/Fox 103.1.When I heard that ,I thought that they had updated the ratings, as the combined WGNY-FM/WTSX-FM. But When I checked R&R.com,WGNY-FM was still listed at #4 and WTSX-FM/WDLC-AM as a combined rating in the 12-plus.

Re: Fox 96.7/103.1, #1 in Orange County?(Not yet)

I have heard the same thing and done the same to check. However, my guess is that they are taking the two numbers from both stats (GNY as one and TSX as the other) and combining them to give the combination of the two a higer score then the other stations. I dont know about you, but that seems to me to be very false advertising. TSX is still listed as oldies in that book and to try to promote that you are number 1 without waiting for the book that has you as a combined station appears to be way way jumping the gun. Particularily since the new combined station doest fit the mold of either of the two previous formats.

Interesting. If they're using the spring book as their reference point, this was when a) as the previous poster said, they were still two different stations with different formats and b) they fired the morning show from Hits 103.1 AFTER that particular ratings period (meaning that the morning show that was actually SUCCESSFUL -- Mike Eagan and Therese Quinn without John Roberts -- was canned in favor of the current one -- Joe Manglass?). In a few quarters, we'll really see the results of this move.
When discussing WGNY/WTSX as it is now, the Spring 05 book would have to be disregarded.

"The most listened to..." suggests a combined Cume number.
