Fox Biz Scraps Entire Primetime Lineup

This seems like a smart move. FBN has been too much like a weak copy of FNC. Too much politics and not enough business. This will help.

Certainly, FBN could do best by not competing with FNC, which has popular conservative content in primetime.

As the Times article points out, the FBN shows air before the old primetime lineup, while they have conservative people on them, aren't as blatantly conservative as the shows being canceled.

In other words, Fox Business' primetime lineup is going from Diet Coke to Coke Zero.

Yes, probably a smart move. If Fox is gunning for CNBC, I think they're becoming aware that it's not as easy a target as CNN was for Fox News Channel. Business people are not red-meat conservatives, they're business savvy conservatives. They want low taxes and less regulation, but they don't particularly care about illegal immigration - in fact many of them are quietly for it because it keeps labor costs low. They're also not particularly concerned with gun control, abortion, or the other issues that keep the Republican "base" all fired up. Their focus, not surprisingly, is business.

While the CNBC commentators often let their politics show (and they're generally conservative, by the way), their programming is all about business. Even the non-repeat night-time programming (American Greed, the 60 Minutes repeats) are all business oriented.
