Haven't seen "Bones," but I like "The War at Home." Even though it has been panned by the critics, I think it is a funny show. The critics hated "Married With Children," and it ran ten years. Yeah, its a bit vulgar and lowbrow at times, but after all, this is FOX...

That is my big issue with the War At Home. It is simply a cross between Titus and Married With Children. The guy who stars in it goes out of his way to sound exactly like Al Bundy.
The difference is Married With Children was presented as a spoof or an over-exaggeration to make its point. <P ID="signature">______________

Exactly. It's a pure timeslot hit. It gets ratings because people are too lazy to change the channel. And while they're clearly biting the M:WC formula, the cast doesn't have the chemistry to make it work anywhere near as well.
Bones is a fine show, although the whole forensics thing is so overdone and played out, IMO.

"The War At Home" got a full season? That's a surprise! I've actually watched this sub-par show so far for only two reasons:
1- It's on while I'm waiting for the far-superior "Family Guy" to begin.
2- The daughter on the show (Haley DeFer) is a hottie.

Arrested Development had the slot and all the critical acclaim. After giving it two seasons post-Simpsons, it still had anemic ratings.
As Homer Simpson once said, everyone is stupid but me. If War At Home is holding an audience Arrested couldn't there must be something people are enjoying about it.

Totally agree... I don't understand why it's getting panned by critics. It's as funny as most other sitcoms currently on the air that have mangaged to last MUCH longer...

Last season Fox had nothing on at 9PM. This season, they've got Family Guy and American Dad rivaling the Simpsons in audience numbers. I think Arrested would be performing a lot better than last year if it were on in the 8:30 slot now.
I don't know anyone who actually likes, or tries not to miss The War At Home. Personally I leave it on because I know I'll forget to turn Family Guy on at 9 if I go do something else for a half hour.
