Fox gives Saturday Midnight slot back to affiliates

http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/494269-Fox_Gives_Saturday_Midnight_Slot_to_Affiliates.php

"Starting Sept. 7, Fox will give the Saturday midnight-12:30 a.m. slot to its affiliates. Fox had initially intended to air reruns of its primetime animated programs in the slot, but said it believes the reruns are more valuable to the network in prime. "This allows us to preserve the value of our animated encores while at the same time giving our affiliates an additional half hour to sell," said the network in a memo to its affiliates.

Fox's late night Animation Domination High-Def block premieres July 27 and will air 11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. through Saturday, Aug. 31. Starting Sept. 7, the animated block runs 11 p.m. to midnight."

Not rrally a huge surprise or all that big a deal. Fox grabbed that slot several years ago when they launched Spike Feretson's talk show. They've aired a bunch of reruns there since that show failed. It may cost Fox more to run that half hour of network feed than they take in in ads.

I remember they aired "Sit Down, Shut Up" and "30 Seconds to Fame", as well as others, in that midnight slot. So there goes the Saturday night Hell's Kitchen reruns as well, which I can catch Gordon Ramsay's F-bombs and S-bombs anytime on CMT and other networks!
