Fox Movie Channel starting to become another AMC

And though there will still be some commercial free classic movies block, I think in the long long run they will probably change to 24 hours of movies interrupted by commercials like AMC.

You can bet on it.
And oh what joy it will bring to the subscribers in Kabletown when FMC starts having squawks and kibitzing about their carriage fees.

TMC: Still staying classy

Which has been straying from the original meaning of the "M" in the network's acronym... not to mention the "C", as well... ::)

It's really not a fair comparison amc had full distribution on basic when they added commercials to their movies that's why alot of people were/are upset where as fmc is in only 40 million homes and not on basic at least on my comcast cable system so a ton of people never see it.

They had pretty much no choice, once Turner pulled their library to start TCM, and Fox pulled their library to start fXm (Later Fox Movie Channel), AMC had no content left to air.

Now, this move by Fox is simply a money grab, and an attempt to get more subscribers or placed in a different tier. I live in a Comcast market, and right now FMC is in the "Sports and Entertainment" package for an additional $8 per month.

Also, TCM must have asked for higher carriage fees, because Comcast is placing them in the "Preferred Digital" tier of programming now. Might as well, I guess, since the "digital" networks are resembling more and more of the basic network content (The Hub, Cooking Channel, IFC, etc) and less and less of the niche and specialty content it once did.

put a guy with an MBA in charge of programming and this is what you get...
