Fox News Amateur Hour Continues...

After misidentifying Rep. Mark Foley as a Democrat not less than three times on a pre-recorded broadcast of the O'Reilly Factor, the amateur hour that -is- Fox News has done it again, this time labeling Lincoln Chafee the Democrat and Mr. Whitehouse as the Republican.

Stupid.

Right...he's a Republican U.S. Representative for Connecticut's 4th district (not mine which is 5th).

Fox is down 23%

Although that's true, it's down from September of last year - in the aftermath of Katrina. And, those numbers were huge. So, being down 23% in an environment that depends on the level of "big stories" for ratings is not meaningful. Just misleading.

And, yes I have seen the chyron guy misspell many words on each of these news channels (CNN, MSNBC and Fox) too. It's just sloppiness that is bound to occur in a fast-paced environment like that - the probably need to pay better for graphics people! Hardly some grand conspiracy.

It's interesting to me that Fox gets all of this hatred as some "right wing tool", yet not all of their hosts and newscasts favor the right. And, independent research by UCLA indicated that the rightward lean is slight in their news reporting. It's the talk shows that go heavily to the right.

Yet, watching the Today show or GMA, you can see MANY examples of leftist leanings. And, the same research quoted above found this to be true. So, where's the outrage about these "left wing tools"? No, they represent the "mainstream" of american thought. If that is so, then President Kerry should have been elected - having won 44 of 50 states!

Today and GMA aren't about news at all, they're about giggling hostesses, wisecracking overweight weathermen, straight-man hosts, and fluff pieces involving Martha Stewart-wannabes.
