Fox News Channel: Cable's Most Expensive (Non-Sports) Network

Note that the prices in the B&C article are the cable operators' "perceived value" for each network, and not what they actually pay. I'll note that what they're actually paying for some of these channels is quite a bit higher than what they're claiming the "perceived value" of the networks are.

For instance, operators claim that the "perceived value" of ESPN is $1.16/subscriber -- even though they're paying over triple that amount for it (ESPN is reputed to cost about $4/subscriber). Considering that they're claiming that the "most valuable" cable channel is worth much less than it actually costs, I'm not convinced that any of these numbers are particularly meaningful.
