Fox News Host Tucker Carlson's Home Targeted by Protestors

Tucker's wife called 911. The police came, and saw no evidence of cracked wood at the door.
.

There was evidence of fresh paint cracking at the joints or seams or whatever you call the places where individual pieces of wood are joined, indicating that the door, as reported, was body slammed.

Anything greater than knocking on a person's door is certainly inappropriate and at some point becomes an attempt at breaking and entering.

I've seen the news media threatened and even went through my "media partner" being killed. When groups in a country try to censor the press with violence, my experience in several countries has been that a revolution or civil war or dictatorship is not far away.

While this is a politically tinged subject, the issue from my perspective is one of lawless elements on any side terrorizing the press.

Snopes says the police report shows no evidence of damage to the door.

However I agree with the view that the right to protest does not include stepping on private property.

However, our Constitution gives him, just as it gives Rachael Maddow, the right to express their opinions. Neither Tucker nor Rachael should have their home attacked because of it.

I think since a lot of people on this board have worked in media most of them would
be absolutely terrified by the thought of having their wife and children assaulted at home
over something they had said on the air.

There is a lot of chatter that the police report is not 100% accurate.
Police are accountable to local government, and in that locality it seems they are not
of a political persuasion that is very fond of Tucker. You aren't going to report things
if it is going to cause problems for your Chief with the Mayor or City Council.

By all appearances the police in this case did not respond very energetically to the entire event.
Not saying they were told to stand down, but it looks odd.

Body slamming does, however, beat having people with rifles come to your door!

Snopes is a very highly accepted source, and the story I linked seemed to be presented in a very balanced way.

You can believe whatever you want, but at some point, the facts are the facts. I know that part of DC very well, and it's my experience that money means more than politics. Green is worth more than red or blue. If Tucker doesn't like the way the local police handled his 911, he can take it to the next level. He's obviously going to have to make an insurance claim on this, and they'll send an adjuster to see the actual damage. My point is there IS recourse here even if you choose not to accept the police report. TTBOMK he hasn't complained any further.
