Fox News Junior Reporter: "Phoenix is a city UNDER SIEGE!"

Yes, FOX sent their latest Kent Brockman/Ted Baxter clone to Phoenix today (you can tell he is not from here, he is wearing a black suit, and standing in the sun).

He started his breathless report by standing in front of the police station and exhorting: "It may look calm here, and the police will deny it, but Phoenix is a city UNDER SIEGE!"

Usually you have to get a local channel 3 reporter or a Tammy Vo or a Rick Romero type to spew that much bombastic hyperbole in one sentence, but this guy is in the "majors."

Thank you Geraldo "Gerry Rivers" Rivera, for turning a once fine position into a freakshow of wannabe sideshow carnies.

He is on again, sweating in his suit. :D

Now its "the Valley of the Sun is a much much darker place now, under the threat of a killer"

"Residents are living under a siege mentality"

Jonathon Hunt, meet Ric Romero!

::)

Then, there is 12 News with a very serious looking Lin Sue Cooney and their color-coded dots of where each of the THREE *** did I tell you THREE *** serial killers have struck. Then, Mark Curtis (turning away from Lin Sue and toward the camera) says, "Yes and our own Faye Fredericks is reporting live from somewhere in Central Phoenix..." Finally, Faye (standing in front of patrol car with its lights flashing) says breathlessly, "Mark and Lin Sue...people in Central Phoenix are living in complete FEAR tonight of the serial killers."

It reminds me of a few years ago when the tail end of a hurricane was expected to hit the area from Baja.

Channel 10 had a guy standing in a dry desert wash saying "This wash is dry, but if a hurricane hit, and it rained, it would be full of water!"

The local stations are salivating, they have an actual story to hype during a slow month.

Wonder which channel will be the first to make "Theme music" for the story?

New report 4:30 today:

"Phoenix is a city gripped by fear! Citizens are flocking to gun stores!"

"A dark cloud of fear hangs over the Valley of the Sun"

What an a##hole
