Fox News Talk gone from SiriusXM

Cancelled all three receiver subscriptions; the one in the house is already off, while those in the Jeeps will run for another few weeks.

Became tired of the ads for weiner pills and other repetitive/monotonous ads. The bad news is that local radio is not much better. WHCU should change its call to WPSA with a new promo "All PSA's - All the Time".

Question. Is Fox News Talk still on the Sirius radios on channel 126? I only have XM and streaming. It is gone from both of those.

Yes it is still there on Sirius if you can stand the poor audio quality.

Terrestrial radio may not be the best option; but I cannot believe people sing the praises of SiriusXM and pay for that crappy audio. It's not even worth $5.00 per month.

My subscription is "free" it came with the radio for 6 months. I hate the compressed low bit rate sound. Free is ok for the service, I can't believe people pay real money for it. Music channels are commercial free so I can see where the need to charge for those but with all the commercials on Fox and the others those should be free or Fox should pay Siruis/XM not the other way around. Content providers are going to raise their rates so high that something has got to give.

If you are out in the MON (Middle of Nowwhere) where radio and cell phone service is more than a little spotty and you like a format outside the SOS (Same Old Songs) then Sirius/XM is the only answer.

...and it's great when traveling great distances where you don't have to find a new station (that you like) every couple hundred miles. Just ask any trucker.

FYI, the commercials you here on FOX-CNN etc, are commercials paid to Sirius/XM, they are not commercials from the network, Sirrius adds them in during the network break.

Now Fox News Talk on channel 126 is gone. What will they put on the channel now that it is vacant? And I think they are a few other channels that in the last week or so have also become vacant. What's the deal?

Same as why Fox gets dropped for a while from your cable TV line-up: they want a bigger cut; it appears SXM will not pay them more to carry them, so they are out (for now at least).

they should NOT replace it with any other channels..

In fact, SiriusXM should drop some more channels and increase the bandwidth for music channels so that the audio quality is better.

The emphasis is on adding channels that are either paid for, thus providing a reliable revenue stream to SiriusXM, or talk/news/sports channels that SiriusXM can sell advertising on. Music channels do neither and are simply window dressing to pry the listener's wallet open.

By the way, now that there's a new sheriff in town (Malone), how long before SXM goes back on the pledge to remain commercial-free and starts selling ads on the music channels?
