Fox News

I was talking to a friend of mine, his am is thinking about picking up Fox News for news services. Anyone using the service? Better than ABC or CBS?

Fox News is pretty comprable to ABC or CBS radio news. The spot load for Fox is less than CBS (I'm not sure about ABC). Fox also does a nice job of mixing in some personalities from Fox News TV. For example, Shepard Smith does a 5 minute radio version of "The Fox Report" on Fox News Radio at 5PM ET. Other TV personalities pop on from time to time as well. I know they have only been providing a five minute service for about 10 months now. Quite frankly, it shows from time to time, there are some timing errors and other glitches that hurt the delivery from time to time (especially at night and on weekends), but for the most part they seem to be improving. Overall, I would say Fox is a pretty good service.

We have Fox and have no complaints. Unlike CBS or ABC your spot commitment only runs from 6a-8p M-F. Also they are VERY good about letting you use Fox Television during major breaking news, although the radio staff does a good job on unfolding events. The only down side, is that about 8 or 9 months ago Fox subbed the marketing out to Cheap Channel and they are miserable to deal with. In my expereince the Fox people couldn't be more cooperative or helpful. But..when you have to deal the gang from Lousy Mays organization it's an entirely different story. But the content is good, and the audio is quality.

We are interested in adding their news services, is it a premiere product now? Or is it still indepently repped out of New York. Fox has a good brand on tv, how do they do on radio. Advice, should we dump 20 years with ABC radio to move to FOX?
