Fox NFL Studio Host

Has Fox named a replacement for the studio host job vacated by James Brown? I heard that Joe Buck is a possibility, but then they would lose him as the No. 1 play-by-play man.

Wow...I must have missed that James Brown was even leaving. When did this happen? I like J.B. Is he just going to concentrate on his sports talk radio show on SPORTING NEWS radio network?

There's a possibility that the show would travel each week to wherever the Buck-Aikman game is (don't know how they'd do things in October, when Buck is covering the baseball playoffs).
The promos I saw on Fox yesterday just said "find out when FOX NFL Sunday returns.."

You are looking LIVE at the next host of FOX NFL Sunday, and you are looking at him> Brent Musburger IS coming when FOX NFL Sunday returns....

Oh, Gawd, I hope not.

Brent is older than dirt. I don't need to see him anymore. :(

I see the NFL Today on CBS doing better then FOX's NFL Pregame. Just my thought.
Not likely given the current situation - the NFC just has larger markets (Chicago, Philly, Atlanta, Phoenix, Detroit) and they'll watch the channel carrying their team's game - 75 percent or more of the time, it's Fox, and that becames a habit even when the team isn't on that day because of a bye or being on Sunday/Monday night.

If they choose Buck I believe "FOX NFL Sunday" will go down the tubes. That's the main reason I hate FOX's Baseball & Football coverage. Buck doesn't belong has a sports broadcaster. IMO he just doesn't have it. I think they should go with Chris Myers. He's got great chemistry and would do great with Bradshaw, Long & Coach Johnson. I also believe though that with James Brown joining CBS that "NFL Today" will skyrocket in ratings. Everyone knows, respects and loves JB. I only watch CBS anyways, so thank goodness that my Broncos are in the AFC and play most of their games on CBS. I will not watch a game on FOX. I've had to stomach the Super Bowl's that they have had but I won't watch any playoff or regular season games. With Buck in or out of the booth and @ FOX I will not watch. That's just IMO and two cents worth.

Here's another cool guy you need to keep an eye on: ESPN/ABC Sports' Jon Saunders. I think he'll be a natural fit, BUT I believe FOX is keeping it under the wraps-until opening weekend, 9/10. Stay Tuned...

A Wikipedia contributor (caveat emptor) writes that FOX has reportedly narrowed the search to Curt Menefee, Pam Oliver and Chris Myers. Given the current political environment in TV, I would look for a minority or a woman to be hired. That's Menefee or Oliver, and between the two, I'd give Menefee the edge.

Since I don't cite Wikipedia necessarily as a source of expertise, I would agree that John Saunders would be a great fit for the job, if FOX Sports could ever lure him away from ESPN/ABC Sports.

I agree that John Saunders would be a great fit on Fox. I just think he is committed to his college football and NBA work on ESPN/ABC. Plus he hasn't had much experience covering the NFL, and ESPN would have to find a big fish to fill his shoes if they lost him. Chris Myers seems to be the more likely candidate to me.

I don't think ESPN would let John Saunders go. Doesn't he work NCAA Basketball, NBA, and College Football. Also did a search and he also was a NHL broadcasters when ESPN had hockey.
