Fox Sports Coverage: Some Guy Picking His Teeth !!!!

Fox has to have the worst sports coverage of a MLBaseball game ever.
Trying to watch the Red Sox/Yankee game and Fox shrinks the screen to show some jock on the White Sox team picking his teeth.

Meanwhile, you need a magnifying glass to see the Sox/Yankee game on the shrunker screen. Fox also has the names of the announcers on this four way screen {Score summary on the other) which is still larger than the game Fox is SUPPOSED to be covering at Fenway.

Fox doesn't deserve to carry sports if they can't do any better.

Fox Sports is a DISGRACE.

Re: Fox Sports Baseball Coverage

Fox is trying to provide updates of the White Sox/Cleveland game to viewers of the Boston/Yankees game (and vice-versa).

There is a reason Fox is doing these updates: Cleveland is one of three teams (Boston and the Yankees being the other two) going for a playoff berth. Prior to the start of today's (October 1st) games, none of the three teams had clinched a playoff berth. Two of the three will make it, any one of those three will not.

Yes, well update at a break not show the other game in a bigger window than the game you are trying to watch.

Well most people know that, but those who were watching the Yankees-Red Sox game did not need to have their game shrinked to see an insignificant part of another game. This kind of garbage is yet another reason Fox should not do baseball - the main reason is the worst baseball announcer known to mankind - Tim McCarver.
______________

Amen ! That is exactly how the screen looked.
'We Don't Need No Stinking Fox Sport....'
Their broadcast was a disaster and an embarassment to Major League Baseball.
Hope the Baseball Execs read this.

Re: Fox Sports Baseball Coverage

At least you got to see the Sox-Yanks game or the Clev.- Chi Sox game. In Philly we didn't get either, we go the Nats-Phils game. Why couldn't FOX provide double-header regional coverage??? As a Red Sox fan in Philly I had to listen to John Sterling on CBS. Not enjoyable

Re: Fox Sports Baseball Coverage

Well good luck with attempting to get Fox to leave....no other network is wililng to pony up the money to air Big League Baseball...why?

Because outside of NY, Bos, Chi, LA and StL...we don't care.

Really. We don't.

Baseball is a s l o o o o w game...ergo, theres not much to do between pitches BUT pick your teeth.....

And with fat-white millionaires in Boston and New York tossing around millions to buy up the best players, its no wonder we've had the Yanks and Sox shoved down our throats all....season....long.

So, sit back and enjoy. Because Fox ain't givin up baseball.......

> Fox has to have the worst sports coverage of a MLBaseball

I agree. Someone must have called in to complain because later when
the Indians had the bases loaded late in the game, they did NOT go
to split screen (during the Sox-Yanks game).
They do shameless promotions tied in to the game (hey, let's interview a fake
athlete in the stands and help promote a product, or let's cut to some stars
of Fox shows who are out in the crowds.

I do like Fox broadcast for Family Guy and Simpsons and Fox News, but Fox
Sports needs improvement. By the way, the Boston Globe had a bit of a blooper
yesterday, saying that Fox's #1 broadcaster, "Jack Buck" would be doing the
game from Fenway, as well as a football game tomorrow. Mr. Buck passed away
in June of 2002. Surely the Globe columnist meant "JOE Buck", his son.
No correction in today's paper about it.

Yes, and even someone like me who likes Fox broadcast/Fox cable has to admit
it (Fox Sports TV) is REALLY bad.
______________

Ain't this the truth!! I think the reason why no other network will pony up this kind of money is because Bud Selig thinks his sport deserves an NFL type of television deal for his sport and with the kind of ratings Major League Baseball pulls in and with all of the hype over steroid use in baseball (C'mon we all know Barry Bonds didn't have a bum knee, he was just taking long sobbering up from the steroids.)it's no wonder why FOX is the only network who will pay to show baseball. Bud Selig doesn't want the sport to end up like the NBA and NHL where cable controls the majority of the television rights for the big ticket events like All-Star Game or Playoffs.

People need to face the facts that in this country, football is now the national pastime!!

Re: Fox Sports Baseball Coverage

Yes, we realized that. The constant score box in the corner is all the hint that we needed. If an update is that urgent, cut to FOX's studio in between innings.

I just wanted to watch the Yankees and Red Sox game not the Indians and White Sox game. Just tell me the score of the updates in between pitches, or before commerical.

Also another thing I noticed on MLB on FOX. They get back from a commerical to late. The first pitch of that inning has already been throw which stinks. FOX needs to learn how get back from commericals better.

Main difference: the NFL has the decency to allow those who pony up for its satellite package to watch any out-of-market games, rather than granting the Fox affiliate an absolute regional monopoly once a week.

A friend of mine here in Toledo who is a huge Red Sox fan is quite fortunate that Detroit's Fox affiliate is carried on cable here, or he wouldn't have been able to watch Saturday's important Bosox-Yanks game at all (the Toledo affiliate carried the Indians-White Sox game).

Sometimes I hear/see that happen on local tv or radio broadcasts of the local team.

NBC has been way OTT about this, especially at the Olympics. Ugh, don't get me started about the 2000 Sydney closing ceremonies... :| :( :x

Re: Fox Sports Baseball Coverage

Amen although NESN in this area comes back late to the game just about every time. If I can I turn on the Red Sox game on RADIO where the broadcast team is excellent and I never miss a pitch. WEEI 850 always comes back on time.

Ain't this the truth. Why does everyone think the Arena Football League signed with NBC? Better question. Why does everyone think NBC dropped the NFL (and will soon have to yield The Olympics to CBS in/around 2012 or so)?

Barry Bonds on rehab - FOR A KNEE INJURY??? WHAT A PACK OF LIES!!! We all know he was in DRUG rehab. Look at how many homers he's hit so far this year. Not many.

> People need to face the facts that in this country, football
> is now the national pastime!!

And even this is because A). Basketball players invite a certain aura of violence that many people would just assume avoid B). Hockey players are just getting its act back together C). Soccer players aren't exactly ready for "prime time" image-wise and D). Baseball players simply can't be trusted to TELL THE DAMNED TRUTH.

Just my opinion :)

Cheers for now :)
______________
