Clear Channel could flip one of it's New York FM's to sports (or even WOR-710, with WOR's call letters and current talk format moving to one of the company's FM stations) with, but not completely, 24/7 Fox Sports Radio.
At the moment, the New York Mets are looking for a radio flagship for 2014. And while the Islanders hockey team has a small network on Long Island this year, I would think the Isles would like a "big signal" New York station for their flagship once they begin play at Barclays Center in Brooklyn next Fall.
I expect CC will be the prime contender for radio rights to both teams, which would provide local pro sports play-by-play twelve-months-a-year for such an all-sports station.
If CC lands the Mets, expect Fox Sports 710 or Fox Sports 104.3 (with a couple of local New York-centric shows along with most of the FSR lineup) to launch in-time for the beginning of pre-season baseball next March.
