Fox Sports Radio 101.7 KCKS

Curious how Fox Sports Radio in Chico is doing? Anyone from the north state watch this board?

How's the station sound?
What's the talk on the street?

Aside from Giant games, I used to listen to ESPN 101.7 for 2-3 hours a day. When it was yanked for a year to play all-the-hits Top 40 music, I missed reliable updates, thoughtful banter, and the additional Saturday/Sunday non-Giant national MLB broadcasts. When sports returned as FOX 101.7, it was great to have Giant games back in stereo, but the rest of the programming is just awful. I suppose I am not into the shrill hosts with oddball nicknames, lewd references to female anatomy, excessive blathering about football 23 hours a day, and the lack of score updates.

During the day, I usually tune into scratchy KNBR. After dark, San Diego 1090 XX comes in nice and strong. When I need a sports fix, that's where I turn.

Have no idea on ratings. I have seen a few new billboards around town, just in time for the returning masses of college folks, who probably crave the faux 'tude that Fox markets.
