FOX Sports will honor Pearl Harbor Day by broadcasting from Pearl Harbor

Fox Sports has some big plans for Pearl Harbor Day. In an effort to honor the 75th anniversary of the infamous day back on December 7th, 1941, the network will shift over to Pearl Harbor and call the iconic location home between December 4th and December 7th. The plan is to use sports as a backdrop while honoring the United States military and providing historical information.

It will not happen this year, but next year, in December 2016, which would be the 75th anniversary.

I'm sure they mean it as a tribute, but somehow, the idea doesn't seem to tug at my heartstrings.

I think the 75th anniversary was a mistake by OP - FOX intends to be there this year.

No, the article clearly says 2016. So why announce it now?

The Fox item refers to the event happening "almost 75 years ago" and quotes Fox Sports President/CEO Eric Shanks as saying they "hope to return to Pearl Harbor in 2016 to pay solemn tribute on the 75th Anniversary."

Yet the Awful item still has it referring to the "75th anniversary" this year.
