Fox5 News at 11pm could be on the horizon

Fox 5 sister station Fox 13 in Tampa has just announced plans to launch a 11pm newscast by the first of the new year. The station will be the second VHF fox affiliate in Florida to offer a 11pm show in addition to the traditional hour-long 10pm show. Considering that Fox 5 has the second highest rated news operation historically in Atlanta it should mean that it will happen here. When Fox initially picked up the strong VHF affiliates in the mid 90s, numerous new Fox affiliates in the central time zone kept their 10pm news and just added a 9pm show. I believe all new eastern time zone fox affiliates eliminated the 11pm news for a 1opm news. I believe that Miami's fox affiliate was the first to bring a 11pm news back (15 minutes then expanded to 30minutes) and now Tampa's VHF fox station will.

I say it is only a matter of time that Fox 5 brings us news at 11 once again, like the old days when 5 was CBS.
