I was perusing Wikipedia today, and saw on the WXIN page that there was a newscast at 11am. Any further details? Is it staffed by the morning news crew? Is it even happening?
Fox 59 was recently advertising for a midday news producer. They have had an 11 a.m. newscast listed on the program schedule on their Web site since Monday, but have been running Jerry Springer instead. Many Tribune stations are expanding their local news offerings.
It's 11 a.m. if it's going to happen. If it was 11 p.m., it would imply they'd swap programming for the 10 p.m. slot. FOX wouldn't just add another hour of programming to all of its affiliates without any extended prep time, and syndicated reruns wouldn't provide the lead-in audience to go head-to-head with the other three stations.
