This is nice to hear! Seems like they're following in the footsteps of their Tribune sister station in New York. If my memory serves me well, WPIX 11 has been doing this for decades, I want to say close to 30 years, maybe more. I have fond memories of the Old PIX Yule Log on Christmas morning. It's great to see FOX61 start this same tradition for Hartford-New Haven.
WPIX did it from 1966 until 1990. Then it was brought back in 2001.

Actually, the title is A Log's Life. It will air on WPIX tomorrow at 7:00. And the log went out in 1989, to be bought back in 2001 thanks to the Yule Log website:
