FRANK MURPHY BACK ON THE RADIO

This morning, I was desperate for something to listen too on the radio so I turned to Star 102. That station and the format is really not my thing but sometimes Marc and Kim have interesting stuff to talk about. I was shocked when I heard Frank Murphy on there with them. It's Marc, Kim, and Frank in the mornings now. Frank is a great on air personality and a very knowledgeable person when it comes to....anything and I'm glad to hear that he has found work here in Knoxville yet again. That guy has the worst luck when it comes to radio jobs in this market. First it was The River that let him go, the Oldies, now he's landed at Star. The addition of Frank to the morning lineup makes that show alot more interesing. You've got Marc who thinks his opinion is the only thing that's important. Kim gets all defensive, and now they have Frank to throw out the right facts and set them straight. We might be in for some great radio with this lineup on Star. I just wonder if they'll keep the Marc Kim and Frank team, replace either Marc or Kim with Frank, or move Frank to his own time slot. Either way, it's great to have him back on the radio - again.

Say what you will about that show, the one thing you can't dispute is the success since Marc and Kim have been a team. Add a talented backup like Frank and you have got a winning combination that will last. I work in the ad world and I can assure you that people respond to the show, they buy the products advertised on the show and they are very easy to work with off the air. I am a daily listener and you have to admit, there is a lot of chemistry and fun. They seem to genuinely like each other and have fun getting on each other's cases. If you listened to Kim and her adoption saga, you heard how close Marc and Kim are as they were both moved to tears on many occasions.

I heard Marc said that he and Frank used to work together somewhere else and that's how they know each other. They are obviously evolving the show and I think it is great. You should have seen the close to 20 share they pulled in the last book, 18-34. It is the most "real" show on the air in Knoxville.

I know that people are polarized about Marc, love him or hate him, but you can't say he isn't good at what he does. He makes me mad about half as much as he makes me laugh, Kim is too sweet and a little naive but knows what she's doing and Frank the couch potato adds a certain zip, but he seems like the perfect compliment to the two of them.

You hit that right on the nail! I cannot stand Andy & Allison - but that's just my opinion because alot of people do, but that fake, almost FORCED laughter just kills me! Phil & Gina are gone now. Phil's at 100.3 WNOX doing afternoons and Gina's still at The River I think doing middays or afternoons or something like that. I don't really listen to TK and Kristen so I can't say anything about them. Marc & Kim are a great morning team though. Local morning radio is quickly becoming a thing of the past and it's great to hear a show that is actually being done right here in our own town. Didn't Andy & Allison at WIVK and Marc and Kim at Star 102 have an argument or something going on last spring? It seems to me like it was over a radiothon that Star was running and Andy & Allison criticized it or something. I remember Marc & Kim saying something about that this past spring but can't remember exactly what started it.
