Some facts for WKomm....
First, Shiers does not sign his name to his editorial cartoons as "Frank Shiers, editorial cartoonist." On all of his cartoons, he signs it, "Shiers, Jr. Creative" with and the date and copyright. The former is a slug line that the North Kitsap Herald adds beneath the cartoon and he has no control over that. The guy produces 6 editorial cartoons a week---all of which are paid for.
Second, Shier's cartoons are seen by more people in Western Washington each week than David Horsey's. That's because the combined circulation of the papers that he appears in easily eclipses the numbers who see Horsey's stuff locally. And note the term LOCALLY because, yes, Horsey is nationally syndicated.
Third, as for his talent level, he's a card-carrying member of the American Association of Editorial Cartoonists. You can't belong if you can't create a decent editorial cartoon.
And finally...If you think "Brock & Saulk" is good (sports) talk radio, you wouldn't know talent -- cartooning, radio, or otherwise--if it whacked you on the head.
Go back to your overnight board op'ing gig and stop whining.
