Frank Ski to WHUR 96.3 - Washington,DC

According to social media, Frank Ski is going to be hosting afternoons at DC's 96.3 nex week. But, it doesn't look as if it's permanent. WHUR 96.3 is doing auditions for the open afternoon slot after Michael Baisden departed. A contest search called "DC's Next Big Voice" is calling upon listeners to vote on the next official afternoon host

Yeah Ski has a stronghold on Atlanta now. But WHUR does reach his stomping grounds beyond DC so that'll make some Bmore listeners happy to hear him again if not long.

:-\ Remember Baltimore's V103 and X105.7? I know Ski is from that way, but I feel his Atlanta fan base is way higher!

I have to agree. I don't know him personally, but do respect his radio cred, but I don't think the typical WHUR listener or DC radio listeners are checking for him too tough. Not a knock against Frank. He is a pro and will probably do well for the week but I am not thinking he will be the final choice for HUR. The Atl loves him though and the people, like me, who have long ago retired from the club circuit remember him well rocking the Bmore clubs back in the early 80's.

You forgot how laissez faire CBS is about the urban format. Especially, the actual urban contemporary format look at WPGC as an example.

This is old but he is not leaving Atlanta he loves the city. His mom, wife ,kids, and his business are all in Atlanta. He really is a non factor in DC and Baltimore radio circles he has been gone to long 15 years.

Yea he's here to stay. His lounge is huge here in ATL with both STREETZ 94.5 and MAJIC 107.5 hosting live events there every weekend.

Per Radio Insight and RadioFacts, Ski will move to Washington D.C. and commit to basing the potentially syndicated show out of WHUR-FM for at least a year.
