Listening to the "Block Party" on Radio Francis this afternoon. Did anyone hear Mike Roberts reference the story on Elton John at a Hillary event, spouting off at anti-Hillary people? He then went into "the Bitch is Back" and slyly referred to it as "Eltons Theme Song for the week." And then reminded us that he was Mike Roberts.

I wonder how many Hillary supporters just hit the dial never to come back?

Do politics have a place on music radio? Especially in these polarizing times where one hint of a personality's political persuasion can alienate a listener for good?

Me, I'm okay with it, as I'm voting Bush... errr, Bushmills!

Cheers,
OldPort Wino

Well, a recent study did show that something like 70% of "Classic rock" fans were going to vote McCain.

Certainly the fine folks at WCLZ constantly remind us how "Green" they are.

and Randi's kids at The Coast certainly lean left.

Hiccup!

I have a big doubt someone who's conditioned to listen to the same 350 songs would revolt at a break conserning anything

Considering Clinton's huge negatives and Mike's creativity, I'm setting EVERY radio to Frank!

Is it just me....or do other radio-info members find this entire "who will win the primary" crap boring as hell? ???

It's just you, from my point of view. It's kind of fun watching and listening to see who will self-destruct first.

It would be a bit more interesting if Senator McCain had a still-viable opponent, then we could watch two good ol' fashioned donnybrooks.

And I become more and more amazed at how little any individual has left of actual privacy - where he or she shops, goes to church, what they read, etc. Our electronic Global community has made it possible to leave very little to the imagination - almost rendering obsolete the idiomatic French "je ne sais quoi." OTOH, much of what is in the cyberworld must be fact-checked and re-checked before possibly being considered factual.

I do recall one on-air music-format host (not in Maine) in the 80's being suspended for taking a stance during a Presidential campaign.

Chuck...

I think my boredom has to do with the way the media is trying to BLOW EVERY INSIGNIFICANT THING about a candidate out of proportion.

Granted...nobody running has the right to privacy when they're cross-examined by a panel full of moderators! But does the average voter really care who HILARY HATES TODAY? WHAT OBAMA IS GOING TO REFUTE? OR WHETHER McCAIN IS GOING TO DENY THAT HE MISBEHAVED DURING A MILITARY ACTION?

Geesh...have any of the 3 candidates actually promised ANYBODY---ANYTHING?

Maybe the media that you and I BOTH LOVE feel they have to oversensationalize everything...just to create a better story? ???

I don't care either way, which candidate was dissed..

But since when are Rock stations supposed to be non-biased? Radio people have opinions and have made fun of politicians since time began!
