live..local radio....

sometimes, like with this storm (potential storm activity, power outages, etc), you have to bite the bullet and realize that real "live" local people providing useful information to the community is needed.

we'll see who does this over the next couple days.

One of the local stations on the seacoast with live jocks is out. I can't get Hot 104.7 from Kennebunk, only their online broadcast is on now.

The morning show on WHEB had a phone interview with Gov Lynch

WTSN in Dover is doing a good job with up to date info, emergency info, shelters

We - Hot 104.7 - were off for about 30minutes while flipping to generator power. Major power outages through York county including our transmitter site in Kennebunkport.

CMP is reporting ~25,000 people without power now.

After the 30mins down we're back on the air and live through the storm.
Updates also on our Facebook & Twitter feeds.

Just for the record, here at 93.7 The Wave, we have been in the studio reporting on what is going on all morning. Arthur Wyman, our intrepid (I love that word) news and weather guy is gathering updated stories as we speak and Joe has been providing updates as well. We have also been updating folks on closures (although the only ones to speak of have been the Ellsworth District and Hancock Superior courts) and will continue to monitor early releases just in case things get sideways later on today. Fortunately, the Downeast area seems to have been spared the brunt of the storm, but we will continue to provide up to date info on the air and on our Facebook page if there are new developments.
